• Ground Solutions

    The Ground Solutions team investigates what risks could present below the ground. Additionally, they can offer and develop solutions to address any identified concerns. The geo-environmental team is concerned with the investigation and assessment of how the ground conditions may impact on receptors such as people or the environment. The geo-technical team is concerned with the investigation of the structural conditions of the ground and the design of solutions and structures.

  • Water

    The water team is concerned with the assessment and management of flood risk at a site. The team will undertake an assessment of the sources of flooding a site may be exposed to and can also undertake hydraulic modelling to determine the fluvial, tidal or sewer flood risk. Additionally, the water team design and implement surface and foul water drainage strategies for developments, incorporating aspects of sustainable drainage.

  • EAC

    Working with all the services within the Environment Group, the EAC service undertakes Environmental Impact Assessments, working with the specialist services to gain an understanding of the technical details whilst maintaining a broad view of the overall project. The team produce other technical deliverables, such as Health Impact Assessments and Climate Change Assessments. EAC are also involved in project management, working with their client and the other services at all stages of a project.

  • Ecology

    BWB provide a variety of ecological services including Phase 1 habitat surveys and species-specific surveys. BWB have a commercial understanding of the ecological calendar and can advise on the surveys appropriate for the development programme. We provide a very pragmatic approach to all ecological problems with economical, cost-effective solutions steering the client through the opportunities and constraints presented with each unique site. We can provide individual surveys and input into Environmental Impact Assessments as required. We also have expertise in the analysis and mitigation associated with the requirements of Biodiversity Net gain and have a track record of successfully negotiating this on behalf of our clients.

  • Heritage

    The heritage provide Heritage Statements, Archaeological Desk-Based Assessments and Building Conditions Surveys. They assess the potential for a site to contain below ground archaeology via an in-depth review of all available data, such as service plans, ground investigation reports and historic mapping. This enables them to design a programme of works individually tailored to each site. Our Heritage Statements assess the potential impact of a proposed development on listed buildings and their setting. This feeds into the design process at an early stage to prevent the need for design changes at a later date. BWB undertake consultation with national bodies, local authorities and, if necessary, local groups.

  • Acoustics and Air Quality

    The Acoustics and Air Quality teams have been brought together into a single combined service line. The AAQ Service offers several opportunities to pool efforts in joint revenue sourcing activity, greater efficiency and resilience, with increased critical mass and enhancing flexible skills of colleagues to expose them to both Air Quality and Acoustics work. The Acoustics Team strives to deliver bespoke advice in relation to the environmental constraints associated with acoustics, noise and vibration. The Air Quality Team provides high quality, robust and commercial focused services to our clients across a wide range of development sectors.
