One of Northwest’s largest speculative logistics developments has received planning consent with the help of the Acoustics Team at BWB Consulting.
Located at the heart of central Lancashire’s motorway network, Farington Park is a 40-acre project to cater for the intense demand for industrial space across the Northwest. It will contain a mix of E(g), B1, B2 and B8 uses.
Several conditions were attached to the Decision Notice for the outline planning consent associated with the wider site, which was granted in 2021, including one relating to noise. As such, the Acoustics Team at BWB Consulting were instructed to undertake a noise assessment to discharge the noise-related planning condition for Phase 1 of the scheme.
To ensure that noise does not cause an adverse impact, a scheme of mitigation in the form of acoustic barriers has been designed. Further input was required following the application submission to address comments raised by Environmental Health.
The reserved matters application was approved unanimously, with queries raised by the local authority addressed, and the Client, Caddick Land, was pleased with the outcome.
