It’s full speed ahead for BWB, with construction of a new £100M distribution centre recently underway at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
Winvic are building the 668,000 sqft facility for leading commercial property developer, Stoford on a 14.1 hectare site at West Road, Hooton Park Airfield. Peugeot, a subsidiary of the global motor manufacturer Stellantis, has committed to a 15-year lease term and will use the building at its national parts distribution centre.
Designed by Webb Gray, BWB and ESC, the proposals obtained planning approval in May 2022, with construction due for completion in the second half of 2023. The building will have impressive sustainability credentials with BREEAM “Excellent” and EPC ‘A’ ratings, as well as the base build certified as net zero carbon in operation.
‘The team had to dig deep to achieve what has been a challenging programme, so far. However, our strong working relationship with Stoford and the other design team members has certainly helped. The talents and local knowledge of colleagues in our Manchester office have also proved invaluable, particularly when dealing with planning consultees’
